Day One
Η ομάδα DH Freeride του Action Bike Club ξεκινά αύριο για το Οροπέδιο των Μουσών στον Όλυμπο.
Σκοπός της ομάδας είναι να πραγματοποιήσει μια σειρά καταβάσεων σε γνωστά και άγνωστα μέρη του Ολύμπου.
Το mtbr.gr βρίσκεται σε στενή συνεργασία με τη GOexperience η οποία θα ακολουθεί την ομάδα και θα ενημερώνει με φωτογραφίες και ένα video για το project.

Day Three
Τρίτη μέρα στο βουνό των θεών και η ομάδα του Action Bike Club βρίσκεται στο Οροπέδιο των Μουσών. Περίπου 8 ώρες κράτησε η ανάβαση και ο άστατος καιρός δυσκόλεψε ακόμα περισσότερο την ομάδα. Την Παρασκευή και το Σάββατο η ομάδα παρέμεινε κοντά στο οροπέδιο των Μουσών κάνοντας μικρές καταβάσεις από την Τούμπα τον Προφήτη Ηλία και άλλες μικρές κορυφές. Ο καιρός τις πρωινές ώρες ήταν καθαρός και με χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες αλλά μετά το μεσημέρι έκλεινε σχεδόν εντελώς και δυσκόλευε τις καταβάσεις της ομάδας.
Why did we miss the Day two? For those that have climbed the Mount Olympus already know why. For those who didn’t we just have to inform them that nothing can go to schedule regarding the weather. The last days although the sunshine, Greece is faced with many local summer storms. No need to mention that the weather at the mountain of Ancient Greek Gods can change rapidly and has nothing to do with the rest of Greece. Don’t forget that the Action Bike Team has climbed at 2650 meters of elevation, where the weather can change with a flick of an eye.
It took them approximately 8 hours to climb. Friday & Saturday the guys had to stay close to the plateau of ” Muses” doing some small Downhill sessions near there and to some other small peaks. The weather at the morning was clear but in low temperatures , but at the afternoon all changed and the team was forced to stop and spend their time in the refuge.
Εχθές, νωρίς το απόγευμα μια ξαφνική χαλαζόπτωση και μια βροχή κεραυνών κράτησε την ομάδα στο καταφύγιο Κακκαλος μέχρι που έπεσε η νύχτα. Τα τσίπουρα το καλό φαγητό και η καλή παρέα δυνάμωσε την ομάδα που σήμερα πραγματοποίησε καταβάσεις από τις γύρω κορυφές του Οροπεδίου.
Yesterday afternoon they were faced with a sudden hail combined with a storm rain. No option there, the team had to stay in “Kakkalos” refuge till the next day. Fortunately for them the refuge staff treat them with good food and some local tasty “tsipouro” and fill their batteries again for the next day.
The next day was full with many downhill sessions round several peaks round the refuge.
Αύριο το πρωί η ομάδα θα ξεκινήσει την τελική της κατάβαση προς το Λιτόχωρο….
Tomorrow morning the team will start the big downhill session from the refuge (2860m) down to Litohoro (293m altitude) , the base city where all the climb starts to to the Mount Olympus.

Apollo 13 Has Landed!!!
Η ομάδα DH του Action Bike Club γύρισε safe & sound και μόλις λάβαμε πλούσιο φωτογραφικό υλικό από τη GOexperience .
Προς το παρόν μόνο μερικές φωτογραφίες από αυτές τις μέρες στον Όλυμπο. Σύντομα θα ακολουθήσει teaser video, περισσότερες φωτογραφίες καθώς και πλήρη περιγραφή για το πως πέρασε το team όλες αυτές τις μέρες στο βουνό των 12 Θεών της αρχαιότητας.
Finally the Action Bike DH Team has landed safe & sound. We have just received a very interesting footage from GOexperience. For the time being we will just post a few photos. In the near future we will be posting videos, more photos, and a full description of what happened over the Mythical Olympus Mt all these days. So stay tuned for more…..
